Bram Stoker

Bram Stoker (1847–1912) was an Irish novelist and short story writer best known for creating one of the most famous characters in horror literature, Count Dracula. Born in Dublin, Stoker studied at Trinity College Dublin before beginning his career as a civil servant and later becoming a theater manager for the famous actor Henry Irving.

Stoker gained worldwide recognition with his 1897 Gothic horror novel Dracula, which introduced readers to the legendary vampire Count Dracula and helped shape modern vampire mythology. The novel’s suspenseful storytelling, dark atmosphere, and themes of fear, immortality, and good versus evil made it one of the most influential horror works in literary history.

Although Dracula remains his most famous work, Bram Stoker also wrote several other novels and short stories, including The Jewel of Seven Stars and The Lair of the White Worm. Today, his legacy continues to influence horror literature, films, and popular culture around the world.
