MARK TWAIN

Mark Twain (1835–1910), whose real name was Samuel Langhorne Clemens, was one of the most famous American writers, humorists, and lecturers. He was born in Florida, Missouri and grew up in the river town of Hannibal, Missouri, which later inspired the settings of many of his stories.

Mark Twain is best known for his classic novels The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. His works often explore themes of childhood, freedom, friendship, and social issues in 19th-century America. Twain’s writing style is admired for its humor, realism, and sharp criticism of society.

Through his storytelling and wit, Twain captured the spirit of American life along the Mississippi River and became one of the most influential figures in American literature. Today, Mark Twain is widely regarded as one of the greatest writers in the English language.
