FRANZ KAFKA

Franz Kafka (1883–1924) was one of the most influential writers of the 20th century, known for his unique and thought-provoking works that explore themes of alienation, bureaucracy, and existential anxiety. He was born in Prague, which at the time was part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.

Kafka wrote primarily in German and created stories that often portray individuals struggling against confusing and oppressive systems. His writing style, often described as “Kafkaesque,” blends surreal situations with deep psychological insight and philosophical reflection.

Some of his most famous works include The Metamorphosis, The Trial, and The Castle. Although many of his works were published after his death, they later gained worldwide recognition and became central to modern literature.

Today, Franz Kafka is regarded as one of the most important literary figures in modern fiction, influencing philosophy, literature, and cultural thought across the world.
